Kakistocracy

The Kakistocracy Maneuvers America Into Mortal Danger

Is there any doubt we live in a kakistocracy? The dictionary defines a kakistocracy as “a government or society ruled  by the least suitable, most incompetent and unscrupulous citizens of the state.”

Can we any longer deny the United States has devolved into a kakistocracy? Consider the current facts: We have a president who is not only corrupt but addle-brained. His time in office could be characterized, slightly edited, by an old nursery rhyme: “Joe and Jill went up the hill to fetch a payment for his daughter. Joe fell down and broke his crown and Jill had to pick him up yet again with the help of several Secret Service agents.” But not only is Old Joe Biden feeble of mind and body, he has been gorging himself for years at the kickback trough of his “foreign agent” son. Is Vice President Kamala Harris alive? I have not heard a peep from her recently. She isn’t very likable, articulate or brainy. She is, instead, dysfunctional. Business Insider says:

Former Kamala Harris staffers have bad memories. They now feel vindicated by reports of a vice president’s office full of dysfunction, a scene they say played out during her time as California attorney general, later in the Senate, and during her presidential run.  Today, Harris brings these defining qualities to the vice presidency. I guess this only matters if, one day, Joe falls, breaks his crown and can never get back up. Understand, this poster child for kakistocracy is only one heartbeat away from the presidency.

Recently, the House expelled Republican Rep. George Santos of New York. Santos was charged on 23 counts including campaign finance violations, wire fraud, credit card fraud,  falsifying records, identity theft, access device fraud, theft of public money and more. Forbes magazine summed up but one of the allegations against this corrupt kakistocrat as such:  Santos was charged with one count of violating 18 U.S. Code § 371 for a scheme in which he allegedly made up false campaign contributions in order to obtain support from a national political committee, and stole donors’ personal information and credit card information, which he used to make unauthorized campaign contributions.  But you know there is more.

Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey was chairman of the powerful Senate Committee on Foreign Relations twice, his last stint from 2015 until 2023, when he had to resign from the post after being charged yet again with accepting bribes, influence peddling,  and extortion, in this case involving Egypt and Qatar. Menendez insists all charges  against him are false, but it is becoming harder and harder to explain the piles of gold bars, Rolex watches, expensive race car tickets, and cash transfers. And it looks like he kept on taking bribes and covering his tracks (poorly) even after he came under suspicion. This kakistocrat is not only avaricious, he’s dumb.

Those two aren’t the only greedy kakistocrats we have in U.S. government. They infest Congress. Mainstream news outlet “MSN” reports:  Members of Congress beat the stock market last year 2023, with Democrats dominating their Republican counterparts significantly, according to a new report by Unusual Whales, a market analysis group.

Members on both sides of the aisle had major years, including Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca.), Rep. Garret Graves (RLa.), [and] Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-K.Y.).  It’s funny, our elected officials feign idiocy when it comes to solving even the simplest problems facing our nation, but they suddenly transform into Mensa geniuses when it comes to investing in the stock market. Perhaps you’d be a genius, too, if you had the kind of inside information they do. But it goes on.

There are kakistocrats everywhere. The UK’s “Daily Mail” reports on a recently uncovered “honeypot” operation for elites in Boston and Washington, D.C.:   A high-end sex ring in the Boston and D.C. areas was a “honeypot” scheme by Russia, China, South Korea or even Israel to ensnare U.S. officials, intelligence experts believe. Whether the plot was intended to aid Russia, China, South Korea—or Israel—remains to be determined. Members of Congress, military officers, and national security contractors who “possessed security clearances” were among the steady customers … prosecutors say.

One would surmise a good blackmailer would have filmed it all. I’ll bet they were good blackmailers. But don’t forget California Rep. Eric Swallwell’s multiple intimate liaisons with Chinese spy Fang Fang. At least this kakistocrat was smart enough not to get caught on film—we hope! Yes, everywhere you look is evidence we have devolved into a corrupt kakistocracy. But the people are not blind. According to news and commentary website “Politico,” they are tired of hearing about members of Congress engaging in “underage sex trafficking, unwanted public groping, resume-padding, and other manifestations of human weakness and depravity.”

Sounds like the last days of the Roman Empire, which succeeded the Roman Republic after 482 years. The empire lived for about 1,500 years, the last several hundred of which it limped toward its final and well-deserved collapse, the result of constant war, greed, corruption, mass multicultural immigration, moral depravity, debt and the incompetence of its rulers.  Rome seems an apt comparison for America today, as many historians insist. This includes Edward Watts, author of Mortal Republic: How Rome Fell Into Tyranny. He says:  Roman history could not more clearly show that, when citizens look away as their leaders engage in these corrosive behaviors, their republic is in mortal danger.
